Vifotec 2006 Prize Awarded

The Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (Vifotec) made public the list of thirty eight projects, which have been awarded Vifotec prizes of 2006. Also, three Vifotec prizes were presented to the best scientific works of the year. The award presenting ceremony was held on 28th March 2007 in Hanoi Opera House.

The Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (Vifotec) made public the list of thirty eight projects, which have been awarded Vifotec prizes of 2006. Also, three Vifotec prizes were presented to the best scientific works of the year. The award presenting ceremony was held on 28th March 2007 in Hanoi Opera House.

One first prize went to the project in the fields of mechanization and automation entitled “Research on design and fabrication of 400-ton hydraulic jacking system in service of Son La Hydropower Works” by Engineer Le Van An, Director of the Agriculture and Irrigation Mechanization Electrification - Construction Corporation (AGRIMECO) and his colleagues.
Another first prize was conferred upon the research work “Technology for producing organic bio-fertilizer from sugarcane refuse” by Dr. Le Van Tri and his colleagues in the field of biology serving production.
Dr. Hoang Van Quy and his colleagues won the last first Vifotec prize for their project “Research on technological solutions to determine open parameter in service of reserve evaluation and design of drilling oil in cracked foundation stone by the BASROC 3.0 program” in the field of technology for environmental protection and proper use of natural resources.
In addition to three VND30 million-first prizes, the organizer granted six second prizes (valued at VND20 million each) and fourteen third prizes (worth VND15 million each) to other innovators.
On this occasion, the Vifotec also issued the list of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) award winners, including Saigon Cosmetics Joint Stock Company, Engineer Hoang Van Quy and his colleagues, Institute of Scientific Research and Design, Vietsopetro Joint Venture Enterprise, Doctor Vu Thi Hoa, Labor Healthcare Center of the coal industry, Vietnam Coal and Minerals Industry Corporation and Student Le Thuy Quyen of Phuong Dong Private College, Associate Professor & Ph.D. Pham Thi Thuy who is a guidance teacher.
The Vifotec awards are designed for five fields, namely Information and Communication Technology (ICT), new materials technology, automation and mechanization, biology serving production and life, technology for environmental protection and proper use of natural resources.
