The Agriculture and Irrigation Mechanization Electrification - Construction Corporation is a corporation whose process of growth and development always attaches to the implementation of scientific subjects and trial production projects of The Ministry of Science and Technology.
In KC.05 program, the Corporation took part in 4 trial production projects:
1. Submergible pump project
- Submergible electric motor project
- 36.000-m3/h pump project
4. Hydraulic cylinder project
Each project that the corporation participated originated from society’s urgent demands. Being a production and business enterprise, the issues of “what” and “who” is always the main disquietude during the process of operating. The corporation has chosen the way of researching on essential demands for equipment and machinery, which cannot be produced by other units in the country to serve our branch and society.
In recent years, when agriculture production has increasingly developed, demands for types of irrigation pumps are higher. In practice, in advanced countries, hidden palms are often used because of its distinguished superiority, but in Vietnam they are regularly used because of its high price due to import. The corporation has bravely conducted research on subject namely Researching on design and manufacturing hidden pumps and hidden electronic engines and then has implemented trial production projects named “Perfecting design and technology of manufacturing hidden pulp and submersible electric motor with capacity of 75kW and water-current of 4000m3 per hour”.
Consequently, the corporation has established a production chain of hidden pump, active from design to manufacture and the product have been applied to production in many localities and its prospect of being used more widely is very favorable because its price is 30-40% lower than imported products with equivalent quality.
The success of trial production project named “Perfecting design and technology of manufacturing hidden pump, hidden electronic engine with capacity of 75 kW and water-current of 36.000m3 per hour” has helped the corporation to be seft-affirmative: be completely active in design and manufacture of pump with capacity of 36.000m3 per hour-the current biggest pump in Vietnam. In plan of replacing 24 big sized pumps of Soviet Union operating more than 40 years in 6 pumping stations, we can be totally active in producing internally, instead of importing. Since now, all types of big and small sized irrigation pumps nationally produced can meet demands for agriculture production in the whole country without importing, reducing a large amount of investment costs (thanks to price of internal production occupies for 60% of import price).
Project named “Perfecting design and technology of manufacturing hydraulic power cylinder system in service of device opening and closing irrigation and hydro electric power works” is the corporation’s key project in development strategy in the period of 2000-2010. It has well affected the corporation, producing a spearhead product with high technology and big value for the corporation, meeting urgent demands of industries in country’s economy. The result of project has helped the corporation to invest a modern production chain of cylinders and employ the staff with high qualification and specialty. In the first years, revenues of these products are hundreds of billion per year.
Scientific and technological meaning of project:
+ Mastering design and technology of manufacturing and installing big-sized hydraulic power cylinder used for irrigation and hydro-electric power works, construction machinery, steel manufacturing industry, automobile and ship industry, coil exploiting industry, transportation and other automated industries (lift force of 400 tons). Opening prospect of being widely used in many branches and fields.
+ Being entirely active in providing devices with quality equivalent to imported devices at lower price for national works.
+ Successfully manufacturing tens of device systems provided for irrigation and hydropower works. Recently, the corporation has been successful in manufacturing Hydraulic power device with lift force of 400 tons in service of Son La hydro-electronic work. The meaningful thing is that up to now, devices lifting and lowering valves (used to break streams) has been only used once, but now it can be used many times for many different works. The use of hydraulic power cylinder for hydropower works is new technology in the world and thanks to that, execution methods of constructors have been changed.
Only including this device, the corporation has earned State around VND100 billion (imported price is about VND115 billion, internal production price is only VND10 billion), contributing a part to early start of Son La hydro-electric power work and shortening the process by 1.5 to 2 years of benefit. Shortening the process and early generating electricity is very meaningful.

From result of the implementation of trial production projects in KC.05 program, the AGRIMECO has been aware of and evaluated big effects on production and business activities of the corporation:
- Manufacture chains of the corporation’s stategic products has been formed, their practicability and vitality are very high because products’ ability of being applied to practice are very high. In addition to technology of design, industrial process of manufacture, to optimize manufacturing materials is also included in the implementation of projects to improve life expectancy, toughness and lower price of products. This is very meaningful to scientific and technological program, well influencing on the corporation’s production and business results.
- In the process of implementing project, the corporation has conducted a deep and wide research on the issue of perfecting design of project. In many cases, they research project more carefully than scientific subjects. This has brought many innovative applied to project’s product, optimizing effect of hydraulic power system for each irrigation and hydropower work, ensuring the total safety for the works.
- Trial production project of the corporation has not limited in project’s product. The corporation has found the way to develop and apply their product to other branches and fields. This has brought many big influences, for example cylinder used for construction machinery, steel cutting machinery, squeezers, ship driving structure, undergrounds, sliding casing used for execution of big mines and works, so on.
- Although state assistance in trial production projects is limited, it has created a scientific motive. Results of researches of the corporation are always attached to urgent requirements in practice. Basing on business development strategy, the corporations always make technology better because technology has never perfect.
Result of the implementation of trial production projects in KC.05 program has brought many big effects on the corporation’s production and business, but more important, from result of project, the corporation has bring many benefits to country which are proved by practice: value benefiting the country is much higher than value benefiting the corporation.
